What is Biometric Data?
Biometric data refers to unique physical characteristics, such as fingerprints, facial recognition, or iris scans, that can be used to identify an individual.
Purpose of Collection

However, we may disclose biometric data if required to do so by law, such as in response to a subpoena, court order, or other legal obligation.
Data Storage and Retention
- Storage: Your biometric data is securely stored and encrypted on BYU–Hawaii, on-premises servers.
- Retention: We retain your biometric data for one year and will be promptly deleted following each fall/winter/spring cycle.
